At STARAfood we like an eclectic mix of websites and blogs.  Here are some of our favorites. Happy surfing!!

epicurious - The go-to site from the publishers of Bon Appetit, Gourmet and Self magazines

Recipe Girl - Fabulous recipes for every taste!

Gojee - This is a gorgeous website (and app) that consolidates all of the best in the food blogosphere into one place with the best food photography ever.  You have to create an account to access all the goodness but its worth it.  If this site doesn't make you hungry, or drool, nothing will!

Lottie and Doof - Winner of the 2012 Saveur magazine best food blog

Cannelle et Vanille - Food, Life & Photography.  A beautifully written and photographed blog by a Basque woman living in the US.   If anyone understands how food brings us together, it's her.

Food Republic - Designed as "The site for men who want to eat and drink well, and to live smart" this is a great place for all of the men (and women) in our life.  Very funny and well written, there is something for everyone - cooking basics, travel tips and much more.

The Shiksa - Exploring the History of Food.  A little bit of everything for everyone.  A great place to browse over your coffee.

The Kitchn - A fun site with lots of recipes and how-to videos.

Helpful reference sites:

What's Cooking America - For the bakers out there, this is a great overview of types of flour and how to substitute one for the other (or not!)

Metric / Imperial Conversions- Cups to Milliliters, Grams to Ounces.  No idea what they are or how to convert - just check here!

Recipe Substitutions - Can't find buttermilk?  Your recipe calls for self-rising flour but the shelves are empty.  Gasp - no taco seasoning packets and the kids are demanding them for dinner!  Never fear - there is always a way...
